چکیده

New Mg2Si-based multilayer structures were proposed for XRF analysis of the light elements from magnesium to nitrogen. These structures contain two, three or more different layer materials in a single period. The additional third, fourth, etc, layer was introduced for improving performance as well as for application dependent performance flexibility. Three-layer W/SiC/Mg2Si and two layer Co/Mg2Si structures with 2d values of 5.5nm and 8nm were deposited by magnetron sputtering. Analytical performance of the new structures was measured by WDXRF spectrometers at Mg-Kα1,2, Na-Kα1, F-Kα1, O-Kα1, and N-Kα1 and was compared with traditional W/Si structures. W/SiC/Mg2Si analyzers showed around 10% and 10%-40% improvement in L.L.D. and sensitivity, respectively. Co/Mg2Si structures demonstrated 37%57% flux increase at N-Kα1 and O-Kα1 but provided unexpectedly low performance at F-Kα1.

تأثیر افزودن جوانه‌زای Al-5Ti-B بر درجه‌بندی ریزساختار استوانه ریخته شده از کامپوزیت Al-13.8 wt.% Mg2Si به‌روش ریخته‌گری گریز از مرکز

To evaluate the effect of inoculant addition on functionally graded microstructure of centrifugally cast Al-Mg2Si composites, two cylinders of Al-13.8 wt.% Mg2Si with and without the addition of 1 wt.% Al-5Ti-B inoculant were cast in a vertical centrifugal casting machine. The chemical composition, microstructures and microstructural phases of the different radial sections of the cast cylinders...

Prediction of Red Mud Bound-Soda Losses in Bayer Process Using Neural Networks

In the Bayer process, the reaction of silica in bauxite with caustic soda causes the loss of great amount of NaOH. In this research, the bound-soda losses in Bayer process solid residue (red mud) are predicted using intelligent techniques. This method, based on the application of regression and artificial neural networks (AAN), has been used to predict red mud bound-soda losses in Iran Alumina C...

Thermal cycles, interface chemistry and optical performance of Mg/SiC multilayers

The interplay between optical performance and the thermally activated interface chemistry of periodic Mg/SiC multilayers designed for application at 30.4 nm are investigated by optical (hard x-ray, soft x-ray and ultraviolet ranges, i.e. from 0.154 to 30.4 nm) reflectivity and x-ray emission spectroscopy. The multilayers are prepared by magnetron sputtering and then annealed up to a temperature...

Characterization of Layerd Materials Related to Forensic Investigation by Confocal Micro-xrf and Atr-ft-ir Imaging Techniques

Micro-X-ray fluorescence (micro-XRF) analysis is a promising method for determining elemental distributions of small regions. Moreover, a recent trend in micro-XRF is 3D elemental analysis by using confocal micro-XRF instruments combined with two polycapillary x-ray lenses. Our research group has been developed confocal micro-XRF instruments by using polycapillary x-ray lenses, and its spatial ...
